Thirteen Journeys, New Horizons: Through the Radiant Citadel

The next destination offers unfamiliar celebrations, a difficult local problem, and food your party will discuss for the rest of the campaign. Somewhere beyond the welcoming lights, a story needs heroes willing to listen before drawing swords.
Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel collects thirteen standalone adventures for levels 1–14. The Radiant Citadel, a city in the Ethereal Plane, connects the collection’s varied settings and stories inspired by the writers’ connections to real-world cultures and folklore.
A New Place Can Change the Party’s Questions
An adventure becomes richer when the characters learn what matters to the people who live there. A festival, family obligation, or local legend can offer a different way into a problem than a simple reward.
For a DM, the accompanying setting material helps establish those connections. For players, it creates opportunities to ask questions and make choices with more context.
Use One Journey or Build a Pattern
The anthology format allows individual adventures to join an existing campaign. A DM can also use the Citadel as a recurring point of departure for a group that enjoys discovering new places.
Our table idea: after each journey, ask the players to name one person they would like to meet again. That answer can guide a later return visit and turn a short adventure into an ongoing relationship.
For Groups Who Enjoy Discovery
This is a useful choice when you want variety in settings and moods while keeping prepared adventures close at hand. It can support an ongoing game or give a group a shorter story between longer campaigns.
Let each place have its own concerns and rhythms. The party does not need to understand everything immediately to find a reason to help.
Pack lightly. Ask good questions. Leave room in the travel journal for the people you meet.
