Good Plans, Bad Alibis: Keys From the Golden Vault

You have a floor plan, a convincing disguise, and an escape route. Your barbarian has a different plan involving the front door. The job has not started yet, and negotiations inside the party are already becoming complicated.
Keys From the Golden Vault collects thirteen heist-centered adventures for levels 1–11. Its standalone missions can become a change of pace within an ongoing campaign or the basis for a group that enjoys planning and executing risky jobs.
Give Everyone a Role in the Job
A heist becomes more satisfying when several talents matter. The charming character can gather information, the careful observer can identify a pattern, and the person carrying the heavy equipment may finally justify packing it.
Players do not need a flawless plan to enjoy this kind of adventure. They need enough information to make decisions and enough room to respond when events change.
Expect the Plan to Meet Reality
Our table idea: before the mission begins, ask each player what their character believes will go wrong. The answers reveal what interests them and can help the DM prepare complications the table will enjoy.
Keep the goal clear. When a disguise fails or a route closes, the players can improvise more confidently if they still know what they are trying to accomplish.
A Book for the Crew
This anthology suits groups who enjoy teamwork, infiltration, conversations under pressure, and the occasional hurried escape. DMs can choose a mission appropriate to their party rather than committing to a single long story.
Agree on the group’s approach beforehand. A careful infiltration and a noisy raid can both be fun, but the crew benefits from knowing which one it is attempting.
Check the exits. Remember the cover story. Tell the barbarian the front door is part of the plan only if it actually is.
