Swamps and Spirits: Three Ghost Light Figures Worth Wading In For
Karwind's Collectibles: D&D Miniatures Spotlight
There's something about a foggy swamp that makes every player at the table lean in a little closer. Strange lights in the reeds, things moving under the water, a raft that looks just a little too friendly... WizKids built a whole miniatures set around that feeling with D&D Icons of the Realms: Ghost Light, and we have a good stack of it here in the shop.
About the Set
WizKids revealed Ghost Light in February 2025, first planning it for September, and retailers listed its release for October 1, 2025. Asmodee lists it as Set 38 of Icons of the Realms. The theme is swamps and haunted bogs, and the set has 46 miniatures full of yuan-ti, mummies, bullywugs, bodaks, lizardfolk, blights, and ghosts. Ghost Light also introduced a new 10-booster brick format. Each booster still has one Large figure and three Small or Medium ones, at $19.99 each or $199.90 for a brick.
Going by Miniature Market's single listings, the rarities break down like this:
Commons: 14 figures, like the bodak, twig and needle blights, mud mephit, and wood woad.
Uncommons: 24 listings (counting color variants of the Oni, Crocodile, Lizardfolk Render, and Yuan-Ti Abomination), including the Will-o'-Wisp, Allip, Ghost, Mummy, and Swarm of Ravens.
Rares: 12 figures, including the bullywug leaders, Lizardfolk Shaman, Corpse Flower, Bone Naga, Giant Wasp, and the three below.
We haven't found a formal review of the set yet, so we'll let the figures make their own case.
Giant Mimic, Raft (#46, Rare)

This might be our favorite gag in the whole set. You know mimics: monsters that pretend to be treasure chests, doors, or furniture. This one pretends to be a raft. It's a flat wooden platform on a big 50mm base, with a row of teeth showing where the planks should be. Players see a ride across the swamp; the DM sees lunch.
Why collectors want it: It's the last numbered Rare in the set, it's funny, and there's nothing else quite like it. Mimic fans (and there are a lot of them) love new disguises.
At the table: Set it out at the edge of a river or marsh and wait for someone to step on board. It also works as a real raft if you're feeling generous, but where's the fun in that?

Star Spawn Seer (#38, Rare)

Not every horror in the swamp is a ghost. Star spawn are alien creatures tied to the Far Realm, and the seer is one of the smarter, scarier ones. This figure has deep purple robes and one arm raised high, like it's calling something down from the stars.
Why collectors want it: Star spawn don't get many miniatures, and this one is nicely painted. It's a Rare that adds a touch of cosmic horror to a set mostly about rot and ghosts.
At the table: Use it as the cult leader in a sunken temple, the villain behind a haunting, or any strange caster from beyond the stars.

Firbolg Archdruid (#42, Rare)

After two monsters, here's a friend. Firbolgs are gentle, giant-kin forest folk, and this archdruid fits the type: tall, calm, and wrapped in earthy robes, holding a gnarled wooden staff. It stands about 57mm tall (per Miniature Market), so it towers over most Medium figures.
Why collectors want it: Good figures for player characters are always in demand, and firbolg druids are a popular pick. A Rare with this much character is an easy choice for a party mini.
At the table: Use it for a firbolg druid PC, the wise guardian of the swamp, or the NPC who helps the party find their way out of the fog.
