Karwind's Collectibles: D&D Miniatures Spotlight

If you've lost a weekend (or a few months) to Baldur's Gate 3, you already know the city sticks with you: the scheming, the strange friends you pick up along the way, and the villains who keep showing up just when you think you've won. So when WizKids announced a D&D Icons of the Realms set built around Baldur's Gate, a lot of us at the gaming table got excited. The set is called Adventures from Baldur's Gate, and we've got a good stack of it here in the shop. We wanted to tell you a bit about the set, plus three figures we think are worth a close look.

About the Set

WizKids announced Adventures from Baldur's Gate in September 2024. It arrived in early 2025. WizKids targeted February for retail, and collector databases list it as a March 2025 release. It brings together monsters and characters from Baldur's Gate 3 and from the Baldur's Gate setting of the tabletop game. Like every Icons of the Realms set, the figures come pre-painted and ready to play straight out of the box. These ones don't come with stat cards.

There are 40 numbered figures in the set, plus four Secret Rares, the hardest ones to find. That makes 44 in all. The figures were sold in blind boosters, and each booster held one Large figure and three Small or Medium ones. Here's how the rarities break down:

  • Commons: the everyday enemies, like goblins, githyanki, a Duergar, Flaming Fist soldiers, the Fist of Bane, and Necromites of Myrkul.

  • Uncommons: fun picks from the game, like Omeluum, Sovereign Glut, Priestess Gut, Dror Ragzlin, and the Dark Justiciar / Justiciar Avenger pair, which share a sculpt with different paint jobs.

  • Large Uncommons: big creatures like the Bulette, Minotaur, Worg, Brown Bear, Lump the Enlightened, and yes, the very suspicious Strange Ox.

  • Rares: the named characters, including Halsin, Minthara, Raphael, Zevlor, Dame Aylin, Ulder Ravengard, Volo, Jaheira, and Sarevok.

  • Large Rares: three big figures, Yurgir, a Phase Spider, and the Slayer of Bhaal.

Reviewers have mostly been kind to it. TheGamer praised the face and clothing detail and said the plastic holds up to the odd drop. TechRaptor enjoyed the variety and said the figures look a lot like the models you'll remember from the video game. TheGamer's main complaint was the price of chasing the set through blind boxes. That's where buying singles helps: you can just pick the figure you want.

Sarevok Anchev (#37, Rare)

Sarevok Anchev, Adventures from Baldur's Gate #37

Long before Baldur's Gate 3, there was Sarevok, the armored villain of the original 1998 Baldur's Gate and a child of the murder god Bhaal. He comes back in Baldur's Gate 3, so he means something to two generations of players. WizKids gave him his famous horned helm, heavy plate armor, and a curved blade, and he stands about 45mm tall on a standard 25mm base. He looks big and scary, the way he should.

Why collectors want him: He's a Rare, and he's one of the most sought-after singles in the set. Other sellers have listed him at around $34 to $45. For longtime Baldur's Gate fans, he's the first figure they want from this set.

At the table: Sarevok works well as a final villain for any Bhaal-themed adventure. He also makes a great death knight, blackguard, or warlord when you need a boss in plate armor.

Jaheira (#33, Rare)

Jaheira, Adventures from Baldur's Gate #33

Jaheira is a half-elf druid and Harper, and she's been with players since the first Baldur's Gate. She came back older and tougher in Baldur's Gate 3. The figure shows her in a low fighting crouch with a blade in each hand. She has silver hair and Harper green, and it's one of the most action-packed poses among the Medium figures in the set.

Why collectors want her: She's a Rare, and fans were asking for her before the set came out. Polygon's reveal coverage named her as one of the characters people were still waiting on. One CBR reviewer called her "one of the final companions I was hoping for." Other sellers have listed her single at around $35.

At the table: She fits easily as a player character for anyone running a druid, ranger, or two-weapon fighter. She also makes a great veteran Harper NPC who knows more than she lets on.

Yurgir (#38, Large Rare)

Yurgir, Adventures from Baldur's Gate #38

If you made it through the Gauntlet of Shar in Baldur's Gate 3, you probably remember Yurgir, the hulking orthon devil caught up in a deal with Raphael. He's one of only three Large Rares in the set. He comes on a 50mm base and stands about 72mm tall, with a spiked weapon in one hand, horns, and a belt of skulls. He takes up a lot of space on the table.

Why collectors want him: Large Rares are the hardest kind of figure to pull from a booster. Yurgir was also one of the figures WizKids picked to show off before launch. Other sellers have listed him at around $24.

At the table: Use him as an orthon (a devil bounty hunter), any big infernal brute, or the scary middle boss of a Descent into Avernus-style campaign. Your players will take notice the moment he hits the table.

Come Take a Look Around

These three are only part of what we have. We've also got Volo, Zevlor, both versions of the Justiciar, Omeluum, Sovereign Glut, Priestess Gut, the Strange Ox, and plenty more from this set. Whether you're filling out your collection, building a party for your Baldur's Gate 3 campaign, or just need a few more goblins for Saturday's game, take a look at our Adventures from Baldur's Gate collection, or browse the whole D&D Miniatures section. Each figure is a single, so you can grab exactly the ones you want.

Happy adventuring, and watch out for that ox.
