Faeries, Shadows & Five Chases: Lorwyn Eclipsed Play Boosters
Updated: 1 day ago

The woodland path looked friendly a moment ago. Now the shadows have teeth, the faeries are negotiating terms, and a goblin has announced that your carefully prepared counterspell will not be happening. Welcome back to Lorwyn-Shadowmoor. Read every invitation twice.
Lorwyn Eclipsed brings a storybook world with an unsettling underside to Magic. Karwind’s Collectibles carries the Play Booster display, a fitting starting point for players who enjoy strange creatures, tribal themes, and a little mischief tucked between the lands.
A Storybook with Sharp Edges
Each display contains 30 Play Boosters. These five editorial picks use regular main-set versions available in the packs, with current Scryfall estimates helping guide the shortlist. Selection was checked October 16, 2026; it is not an exhaustive ranking of premium treatments or Special Guests. The chart identifies every featured printing so a standard card is never mistaken for a serialized prize.
Five Chases Worth a Closer Look
1. Chronicle of Victory

Chronicle of Victory is an invitation to commit to a creature type. It strengthens your chosen team, gives those creatures first strike and trample, and rewards you with a card whenever you cast a spell of that type.
That is a remarkably enthusiastic recruitment poster. It attracts builders who want their collection of elves, faeries, or other favorites to work toward the same goal. The artifact does not assemble the army for you. It does make the army’s next meeting considerably more threatening.
2. Moonshadow

Moonshadow arrives wearing six -1/-1 counters and a very bad mood. As permanent cards reach your graveyard, it can shed those counters and reveal more of the menace underneath.
The appeal is the slow unwrapping of a dangerous creature. Decks that naturally move permanents into the graveyard have a reason to look closely, while collectors get a card that captures the darker half of the setting. Some woodland mysteries improve when left alone. This one encourages experimentation.
3. Hexing Squelcher

Hexing Squelcher is a small goblin with a large objection to permission. Its spell cannot be countered, it prevents your spells from being countered, and it gives your other creatures ward with a life payment.
That combination puts a mischievous face on a serious deck-building role. It will not make your board invincible, but it changes the conversation when opponents want to answer everything from the safety of their hands. The goblin has already interrupted. You may as well continue your turn.
4. Bitterbloom Bearer

Bitterbloom Bearer brings flash, flying, and a recurring bargain: lose one life at the beginning of your upkeep to create a flying Faerie token. The result is a growing airborne presence with a steady cost attached.
Our pick is ECL 88, the regular printing. It offers the card’s gameplay identity without requiring its serialized version. For faerie fans, the attraction is easy to understand: a compact threat that brings friends, then more friends, then an administrative problem for the opposing blockers.
5. Bloom Tender

Bloom Tender looks at the colors among your permanents and turns that variety into mana. In a colorful board state, this unassuming Elf Druid can do far more work than its modest appearance suggests.
It is the practical member of the adventuring party: less interested in speeches, more interested in paying for the spell that ends the argument. Collectors who like useful reprints and players sketching multicolor decks both have a reason to keep an eye out.
Scribe’s field note: A faerie offering you something for only one life per turn has, at minimum, read the agreement more carefully than you have.
Match the Product, Printing and Finish
Serialized Bitterbloom Bearer and Japan Showcase treatments belong to Collector Boosters. The five regular printings shown here are Play Booster targets. The set also offers reversible shock lands and Special Guests as additional collecting paths; those are separate printings with separate prices. No display guarantees a chase card.
Take the Path into the Twilight
Lorwyn Eclipsed suits collectors who enjoy atmosphere as much as a price tag. Build a creature-type project, explore a darker deck idea, or simply enjoy opening a world that feels equal parts welcoming and suspicious. Bring sleeves. Leave the faeries out of the accounting.
