MTG: Avatar: the last airbender play booster box

The earth is moving. The lightning has changed direction. A very large owl wants to know what you are doing in his library. You came looking for a quiet card game, and the four nations have respectfully declined.

Magic: The Gathering | Avatar: The Last Airbender brings familiar places, legendary figures, and elemental trouble to the tabletop. Karwind’s Collectibles carries the Play Booster box for fans ready to turn a favorite world into a new binder project or the beginning of a deck.

A Journey Worth Opening

The box contains 30 Play Boosters. Our five picks focus on regular main-set cards available from those packs, using price interest, distinctive effects, and connection to the setting as the guide. This editorial selection was checked October 16, 2026. It is not a ranking of every rare foil or alternate-art treatment. The exact TLA printings appear in the pricing panel.

Five Chases Worth a Closer Look

1. Badgermole Cub

Badgermole Cub TLA 167

Badgermole Cub turns a land into an active participant through earthbending, then rewards you with extra green mana whenever you tap a creature for mana. Small creature. Considerable infrastructure project.

Its appeal lies in how neatly those ideas meet: lands, creatures, and mana production begin helping each other. For collectors, the cub is an immediately memorable piece of the setting. For players, it is a reason to examine the mana creatures already waiting in the deck box.

2. Wan Shi Tong, Librarian

Wan Shi Tong, Librarian TLA 78

Wan Shi Tong, Librarian combines flash, flying, and vigilance with a scalable entrance: X determines his counters and part of the card draw. He also notices when an opponent searches their library, adding another counter and drawing you a card.

That makes this owl an imposing collector piece with a distinctly watchful gameplay personality. He is especially appealing to players who enjoy keeping mana available and responding when the moment is right. In this library, borrowing information can have consequences.

3. The Walls of Ba Sing Se

The Walls of Ba Sing Se TLA 261

The Walls of Ba Sing Se is a defending creature with an ambitious protective job: your other permanents have indestructible. It is a big thematic statement translated into a straightforward battlefield effect.

The important word is other. The Walls do not grant themselves that protection, and indestructible does not answer every form of removal. Still, for players who like building a board worth defending, this is an atmospheric prize. There may be no war in Ba Sing Se, but your opponents will certainly investigate the walls.

4. Redirect Lightning

Redirect Lightning TLA 151

Redirect Lightning changes the target of a spell or ability that has a single target. Casting it also asks you to pay either five life or two additional mana.

This is an excellent fit for the collector who enjoys a recognizable moment and the player who enjoys turning an opponent’s confident decision into a thoughtful pause. Read the targeting restriction carefully. The spell offers a precise reversal, not a universal answer to everything on the stack.

5. The Legend of Roku // Avatar Roku

The Legend of Roku // Avatar Roku TLA 145 — front face

The Legend of Roku begins as a Saga, supplying access to exiled cards and then mana before transforming into Avatar Roku. On the creature side, firebending and a Dragon-making ability give the story a suitably forceful ending.

It is an appealing pick for fans who want a card to tell a little story rather than simply display a portrait. Our image shows the Saga’s front face; the linked Scryfall record includes both. One slot in the binder, two sides of a legend, and a very persuasive argument for keeping the card in a clear sleeve.

Scribe’s field note: Before redirecting lightning, check the target. Before arguing with the librarian, check whether the librarian has flying.

Match the Product, Printing and Finish

These five picks use regular main-set printings. The raised foil Avatar Aang and textless neon ink battle-pose cards are Collector Booster exclusives and are not possible pulls from this Play Booster box. Other Play Booster art treatments have their own collector numbers and prices. No pack guarantees a featured card.

Bring Balance to the Binder

Choose the characters and moments you would enjoy owning, then let the chase list guide a closer look. A good collection can hold a favorite story and a useful game piece on the same page. Begin the journey with a box, a few friends, and considerably more caution around unfamiliar libraries.
